Mahayana Mahaparinibana Sutra

The Nirvana Sutra
evidently has some importance for any discussion of the Tathāgatagarbha and
Buddha-nature (buddha-dhātu) doctrines.
The full seeing of the
Buddha-nature ushers in Liberation from all suffering, and effects final
deliverance into the realm of Great Nirvana (maha-nirvana). This "True
Self" or "Great Self" of the nirvanic realm is said to be
sovereign, to be attained on the morning of Buddhahhood, and to pervade all places
like space.
Compare with lotus
sutra , I have to say this similarities between these two sturas because both
of then talking about the end of life and suffering however the more clear
reason in lotus sutra presents itself as a discourse delivered by the Buddha
toward the end of his life. The ultimate teaching of the sutra is implied to
the reader that "full Buddhahood"
is only arrived at by exposure to the truths expressed implicitly in the Lotus
Sutra
Lotus Sutra is the idea
that the Buddha
is an eternal entity, who achieved nirvana
eons ago, but willingly chose to remain in the cycle of rebirth (samsara)
to help teach beings the Dharma
time and again. The Lotus Sutra also indicates (in Chapter 4) that emptiness is
not the ultimate vision to be attained by the aspirant Bodhisattva:
the attainment of Buddha Wisdom
is indicated to be a bliss-bestowing treasure that transcends seeing all as
merely empty or merely labeled.
This Nivarna sutra is
the study of what can be called Nirvana Sutra Buddhism or Tathagatagarbha
Buddhism. It is a very positive, balanced, faith-promoting and spiritually
affirmative manifestation of Buddhism, which recognizes the hidden reality of
the unconditioned, egoless Buddha-Self in all beings. That Self of the Buddha
is a mystery, beyond the reach and grasp of the samsaric intellect: while the
Buddha-Self is real, it is certainly not comparable to our worldly, selfish
self (ego) and cannot truly be captured within the net of words or concepts.
Yet it is the only enduring Truth that can ever be found. This sutra leads us
to the Ultimate Truth and indicate the Path to tread for an Awakening into
Reality s presence, which is all-pervading and eternal. That eternally present
Truth is the sole genuine Reality.
Another important
points is the pure Dharma it is also known as the true Dharma. Also, one should
know the Eternal, Blissful, the Self and the Pure." know the Eternal,
Bliss, Self, and the Pure."
The clear mention is be happy.Do not go away empty-handed.
Adorn your own selves with various virtues and rare gems, protected by the
bulwarks and moats of the precepts [shila], meditation [dhyana] and Wisdom
[prajna] - this castle of Buddhist teaching."Do not accept or go for what
is false. Do not be satisfied with a low mind.
